Sparkling Victory


She was surprised when he welcomed her with a smile. He clearly had forgotten about the argument they had had in the morning, regarding her affair. He asked her to make a cup of tea and she gladly obliged. She turned the gas on and was soon engulfed in flames as he watched her burn from outside with a victorious grin. 

It had all started and ended with a spark.

This five sentence fiction is written for the topic 'Sparks' at Lillie McFerrin Writes.

  8. Oh man, psycho!! The thing about these crisp stories is that you don't know the background and so you are forced to call these men psychos. That's why I prefer longer versions. Just saying!

    1. Seriously! I so agree with this. Short versions always remain incomplete and I try to put out the most complex ending possible. Still, somehow I am never satisfied with limited words and sentences.

  10. This guy, he knew how accidents can be doctored. Very calculated person, but she must have been suffering from cold or something to not smell the gas, right? ;-)
