Talk About Love That Matters

Mad love sure is fun

It also is overrated

Loud declarations of affection

Is definitely getting outdated

Talk about love that heals

That which soothe your scars

Leave behind the candle lit dinners

Together, look up at the stars

Talk about love that respects

Everything you are and all that you'll be

Nothing to pretend, nothing to hide

Something that sets you free

Talk about love that's secure

Leaving behind all the shred of doubt

Cheering for them time and again

When they are with you or without

Talk about love that's strong

Hands that always hold you close

Shoulders that lift you high

Strength that forever grows

Talk about love that's proud

Of every teeny tiny bit of you

The one that accepts all your flaws

The one that doesn't try to make you new

Talk about love that lasts

Through thick, thin and in between

The one that helps polish you

When you seem to have lost your sheen

Talk about love that supports

To enable, to grow and to soar high

Root for their ambitions

Together, grow wings and fly

Talk about being calmer in love

Of comfort, maturity and conversation

The madness will always remain

As long as love doesn't leave the station

  3. Beautifully penned, Soumya. I agree, we need to talk more about the love that is kind and freeing, instead of the crazy possessive love which harms the people involved.

Just like me, say what you feel. While constructive criticism is welcome, please keep it subtle and kind. Thank you!
