Is A Woman's Life Worthy Enough?

Image Source Bangalore has a new rule now where in even the pillion rider is expected to wear a helmet for safety. Most of us welcomed this rule grudgingly, while I was happy to buy a good quality helmet and wear it when ever Cal and I took a ride. Although it was irritating at first and it ruined my hair, after a couple of days I got used to it. I also figured that a helmet did make me feel safe and was happy about the move made by the government. A helmet safe guards the head and it is always better to be safe than sorry. And it is necessary to have a well fitting helmet that covers the head and the jaw line. And one with an ISI mark too. When I went to purchase a helmet for myself there were a lot of couples out there doing the same. But the helmet that most of them chose for their spouse was a cheap plastic one, that looked like an inverted wok. Their thought was simple and yet very loud. We just need a helmet to avoid being caught by the traffic cops. So it can be any helmet...

Action Replay - October 2015

Image Source My last post was a week ago and I have been crazy busy with work. Deadlines hovering over and leaving me with hardly any time to do anything else. And yet, October was quite an eventful month for me. Met a lot of wonderful people and learnt quite a few lessons. The month started off with a bang with a B-A-R meet. This is a closed group of a few bloggers and most of us here met for the first time. It was a riot and oh so awesome! It always is a good thing to put faces to names or blogs. A huge bunch of us sat down together to eat, drink, talk and learn about one another. And yes, have loads of fun! It was quite an experience. Later that week, I also got to meet Priyanka aka the Cookie Crumb and Red Handed. Two wonderful and gorgeous personalities these were. We ended up sharing so much about our lives that it absolutely did not feel like it was the first time we met. I loved meeting these two women. In terms of learning, the first thing that October taught me was to ...

Action Replay - March & April 2015

Image Source So let's be honest, how many of you noticed that I had missed the action replay post for March? April passed by so quick, all thanks to the A to Z challenge. It was one hell of a testing month and I feel so proud to have completed the challenge successfully. I had zero posts scheduled and every post was written on that very day. Expect the Z one though. That I had to schedule, as I was travelling on the 30th and had no access to Internet what so ever. This A to Z challenge for 2015 has been very close to my heart as I wrote about a lot of things that are personal to me. I wanted to talk about a lot of issues and thoughts that were plaguing my mind and I managed to include it in my posts during the challenge. Also I managed to write quite a few sponsored posts that gave me some pretty decent additional income. But then again as always, I only chose to write about the topics that I seriously believed in. Now I see that I have more than 30 posts for the month of Apr...

Bangalore Delivers

Image Source Technology had taken over almost everything for us now. We people are getting lazier by the day and only technology is to blame. Now we can get everything from the very comforts of our own home. Shopping is now just a click away and everything just comes to us without any hassle. Some people say that technology is nothing unless we can download food. Although that seems almost impossible we have something close to it. Home delivery for food. This is a concept that existed even before the online boom happened. At that time only pizza's were delivered and it was considered a luxury. But if you look at it now, food delivery in Bangalore is prevalent everywhere as almost every eatery home delivers their food. Spoiling the already spoilt people. Bangalore is a huge food hub we know. Recently we have seen a new culture of food trucks as well that is doing really well. Yummy, scrumptious food, cooked fresh in a truck and served hot sounds tempting already. Apart from ...

Bangalore's Night Life

Image Source Initially Bangalore night life was frowned upon as everything was shut down by 11.30 pm. But since the new Government rules came into effect, night life in Bangalore is one of the best in the country. Apart from IT, Bangalore is famous for the pub culture and Bangaloreans love their drink and they know how to party. Almost every posh area in Bangalore is now home to a number of drinking holes. In addition to these there are a good number of discotheques in Bangalore , where you can go and dance to some wonderful music. Indiranagar and Koramangala being the party hub of the ever bustling and happening city. I saw a recent statistic which shows that the number of drinking joints in Koramangala is more than the number of drinking joints in the whole of Kerala. Bangaloreans are more often than not spoilt for choice, when it comes to visiting pubs. There are so many options that it would take a lifetime to explore all. Bangaloreans are not alcoholics, they know how...

Bangalore's Recipes

Image Source As a lover of food and cooking, I tend to experiment a lot. I like to try out new cuisines and new food. Just as much as I like cooking and trying out new recipes. One of the things that I absolutely love to do is to try to replicate recipes of dishes that I have eaten outside. When you live in a city like Bangalore, you are never short of fine dining restaurants . Almost every nook and corner of the city has something new to offer. Each dish is so exotic and so diverse that you cannot help but fall in love with it. From Italian to Mexican, from Chinese to the perfect South Indian, everything is now available in the restaurants of Bangalore . You do not have to go far to eat some delectable food, it is all present right here in the neighborhood. If you have a penchant for taste than you would recognize some of the ingredients used in the dishes. It is a thrill you know, as you begin to identify the ingredients used in every dish with every morsel. Thanks to the wid...

Settle Down Quikr #QuikrBLR

Image Source A dear friend of mine is soon going to be relocating from Hyderabad to Bangalore and I'm thrilled. I visited Hyderabad last year and I found it to be a very beautiful city. I stayed in Banjara Hills, one of the most poshest residential areas of Hyderabad and the place was excellent. And so was the weather. We visited during July and the weather was uber pleasant. It reminded me of Bangalore in more ways than one. So I want to make sure that my friend doesn't miss her city much when she moves here. I'm sure no city holds a candle to Bangalore. For me, without a doubt Bangalore is the best place to live in. This city has everything that one could need and experience. And I will do everything I can to make my friend's stay here as smooth and comfortable as possible. She is shifting here for a year or two, so, everything needs to be sorted for her as quick as possible. She would be staying with me until she settles down, and she needs everything for h...

Action Replay - July

Image Source: Google Yay its August! Yay its my favorite month of the year! Yay its my birthday month! Okay, you can see that I am excited. Of course I am. Finally after a year of waiting, here it comes again. My birthday. Gifts have already started appearing and I am thrilled to see how this unfolds. More on that later, but for now its all about what happened in July. July was a pleasant month, with hell loads of work and more hell loads of learning. July started off with a bang with a visit to Hyderabad for Cal's friend's wedding. I went in there with zero expectations but came back with a bright smile and a relaxed body. Yes, I loved the City of Nizams. Hyderabad is the only city that comes close to Bangalore. In terms of lifestyle, fashion, infrastructure, people and most importantly weather. Luckily for me, we went on the onset of monsoon and the weather was divine. I've heard of tales about how hot it can get, but thankfully was spared of it. We stayed in ...

My Magical Companion

Image Source: Skyscanner The first time I visited Sri Lanka, was on work and I was there for a very short duration. Yet, the beauty of that small country baffled me. I was put up at Colombo in a room facing the pristine clear ocean. I could see the clear sky and the blue water. The roads were well built and there was no speck of dirt at all. Yeah, coming from Bangalore, I was surprised to see such neat roads. The weather was calm and peaceful and it felt like a vacation even though I was there for business discussions. The best part about Sri Lanka is the currency. One Indian Rupee is approximately equal to 2.13 Sri Lankan Rupees. Yeah, more than double. The next best thing, is the food. Since India and Sri Lanka are neighboring countries, there is no much difference in the food. The spice and salt is accurate hence making everything almost edible. Why, my five star hotel even served dosas! And finally the bestest thing about Sri Lanka is that it just an hour and a half away fro...

B - Bangalore

(I still prefer the old name, Bangalore) B couldn't be anything else for me. Bangalore is not only my home town or the place I live. Bangalore to me is a way of life. Bangalore is my lifestyle and I'm a true blooded Bangalorean. I have always been in awe of Bangalore, but after my recent trip to the National capital, my respect for this city multiplied ten fold. This is my heaven and no matter what I shall never leave this place. I have travelled pretty much around India. I even stayed in Chennai for four whole months, thanks to my initial job training. I hated it to no end. No, not only the weather. The people, the culture, the transport and every thing else. When I went to Mumbai, the land of Bollywood, I was welcomed by slums and the cost of living there shook the living day lights out of me. The weather conditions are extreme too.  The USP of Bangalore has always been its weather, which now is rapidly changing thanks to the IT boom and the thousands who pour in ...
