You, Me & Us

We’ve always been night and day I, the fire; you, the rain Yet still, our heart beats to the same rhythm  In the quiet, we break the chain

Love With A View

PHOTO PROMPT © Dale Rogerson Nel and Sam walk hand-in-hand, as Nel is blindfolded. Waiting for the perfect moment, he removes her blindfold. " You brought me to an ice-rink for Valentine's? Really? " Nel looks at Sam with blurry eyes. " Yeah " he beams. " What were you thinking? You know I'm not the adventurous kind. " " We've been together for fifteen years, Nel. I know. " " Then? " " Hear me out. We're here for the view. This is what we're going to do. " He lays out a thick blanket on the side with a picnic basket and two books. " Fine? " he smiles. " The best. Rain Pain

Image Source This is something that everyone loves I absolutely enjoy moments in the rain But at times it puts an halt to all my plans Ruining everything, causing me terrible pain I love the sweet smell of the petrichor And the cold breeze that comes with it But when you are living in a city like mine Traffic is the first thing to get hit I love the memories that come with rain Causing me to smile, and at times to cry The thing that I hate the most about rains Is that the washed clothes never dry The mild drizzle is a pleasure to watch I love the sound of pitter patter on my window pane But once done it is so difficult to step out Due to the umpteen tiny pools in the lane The air around feels so cool and nice The perfect time for some hot coffee dash But when you decide to take a stroll down the street Someone is bound to spray you with a muddy splash I love the chirping of birds during monsoon They sound so happy, fresh and g...

A Big Deal #DilKiDeal

Image Source He had been waiting for the answer for a quite a while now. It was about a week since he had proposed, but I needed time to answer. It was not easy for me as my last relationship had ended badly and I was not in the mood for love. I was not cynical about the feeling, but I wanted to be alone for a while and enjoy the tiny pleasures of life. I had made a list for myself about the things that I can do as a single lady and I wanted to have a check next to all of them. But then he came along and turned my world upside down. It was almost like every puzzle of me was now falling into the right place. It was love, oh yes it was. But was this the right time for it? I was not too sure . Both of us had just got out of failed relationships and now this was happening. We did not want this to be a rebound and yet the attraction was too hard to ignore. We spent almost every free time together. I had forgotten about the list, but he reminded me about it. He helped me check every...

Worded Colors

Image Source I'm swept away by a tornado Lost in the chimes of the purple fountain I walk along the lanes of blue leaves Finding my way up the red mountain I'm awed by the floral path Pink sunflowers sing me a song The sun seems to be shining bright I pat them on their head and walk along Leaving me yellow with their touch The bumblebees cross my way Then I hear sweet giggling tones I see orange unicorns laughing away I sit beside the green stream of water The fishes come up and glare at me I smile at them with utmost joy Like a mirror in their eyes I can see The lemon tree bows down at me Offering me its ripe plump fruit A single bite of it tastes so sweet Then I'm carried away by a parachute I find myself in the turquoise clouds A flock of birds come along to greet I feel like flying without wings As butterflies now caress my feet I'm taken away to a different planet Everything here seems to work by ...

Falling Forever

Copyright- The Reclining Gentleman I can feel the chill in the air as we sit and watch the still water, our hands entwined with each other. This place is serene and gives me immense peace, or maybe it is just the effect of being around you; since I gush like a child and feel pretty as a woman when you fail to take your eyes off me. It has been fifty years now and the feeling is still the same. And so is the magic. Fifty years ago, it was at this place that I realized that I had fallen in love with you. This five sentence fiction is written for the topic ' Falling ' at Lillie McFerrin Writes . This drabble (100 word fiction) is written for Friday Fictioneers, 24th October .
