A To Z Challenge 2019: Theme Reveal #AtoZChallenge

I know I'm a week late for the theme reveal, but I was traveling and I needed that break! Better late than never, they say.

As a new year begins, my thought instantly goes to what theme should I choose for the A to Z challenge that year. I have been doing the April A to Z challenge for the past five years and have always managed to complete it successfully. Last year, I decided that it would be my last as I barely scraped through the challenge and it was difficult to write everyday while having a full time job and managing a household. But, last December a brilliant idea struck my mind and I wanted to give life to it. Honestly, I have waited for April to take this challenge up. My current work load is still exhausting and it would be too much of a stretch for me to commit to something like this, but I want to give this a try. Even the past years haven't been easy, but I managed to complete the challenge successfully. With a little extra push, I will this year too.

An A to Z challenge is never easy. 26 posts a month, writing everyday apart from Sundays with a theme in mind, a post for every letter; this challenge needs every ounce of your brain juice. This is what makes it fun. You almost think that you will not get it done, but somehow you manage to. The number of readers visiting your blog to read, comment and cheer for you is another brilliant motivation. I have loved doing this challenge year after year and I'm really excited about this year too.

My last year's theme was 'Movies I Love'. This was an easy theme for me because I'm a movie lover and I loved talking about movies that had an impact on me. The year before, 'All About Books' was the theme. Again, that is something that comes pretty easily to me and I loved talking about books and authors. This year I am stepping into almost unknown territory, but this is exactly what I want to write about. I did not have a single doubt in my mind about it, nor did I have multiple choices. This was the one and only idea I had for the theme for the A to Z Challenge 2019.

I write a lot about Feminism, we all know that. Since work was keeping me really busy, I could not work on the #FeministMonday posts this year. I did write a lot of other posts, I agree, but I did not have the time and emotional strength to write a post on this topic month after month. Now, I'm going to make up for this. I'll always be a feminist and a crusader for equality and I admire so many women for being the force behind feminism and equality today. My April A to Z for 2019 is going to be a tribute to such women. Women I have loved and admired. They can be real or fictitious, as long as they have a strong character and a voice, I'm a fan!

My theme for the April A to Z Challenge for 2019 is:

I know this is a pretty strong theme and sensitive topic for most, so, I'll be trying my best to do justice to all the women I feature here. Please do come back day after day in April to be inspired and to inspire me. I'll be cheering for all my fellow A to Zers too. This challenge can only be successful with mutual support and motivation, else it does become tedious.

So, come on, let's support each other and help each other get past the finish line successfully.

I am still in two minds if I should participate. I think getting into something like this will give me the much needed push to write. But at the same time I am skeptical if its too much pressure given that I am slowly easing back into blogging. Any suggestions?
