Who's The Boss?

Image Source Remember how this ad created such a furor in our country, where a woman is shown to be the boss while her husband is her subordinate. A lot was spoken and many people trashed this ad by calling the woman different terms. Yesterday's newspaper spoke about how being a housewife is such a thankless job. A certain court even ruled that the monthly salary for a housewife is equivalent to around Rs. 5000. Five thousand for an entire day's work for thirty days? Talk about being frugal. Rs. 5000 is something that youngsters spend in a weekend now. Be it at a party or shopping. Rs. 5000 doesn't guarantee a stay in a decent place. When was the last time you heard about a one BHK being available for rent at Rs. 5000? Yes, never! Rs. 5000 is something a woman spends just for an hour's session at the parlor for waxing, a facial and a haircut. And this is expected to be the salary of a home maker? A slow salute to that judge who declared this. If a woman is ...

Present-Able

Image Source I work in a team of three people, two guys and then me. We work on setting up an end to end system for buyers of a reputed supply chain market in the world. We worked country wise, taking up data and the requirements for the portal, setting up a user interface and then training the people of the company how to use this so that their buying gets easy. It is just like Flipkart and other e-commerce sites, except that, they but for the needs of their own company. Products on the website would be owned by different manufacturers. We would be making buying for the company so easy that all they need to do is login to a site and click the items they need and check out. The manufacturers will get their order and get them delivered to the company. Earlier, the client and the teams would go shopping from town to town to pick up merchandise to make their products. This includes raw materials for products, card boards for packing, toiletries, water cups and paper for invoices et...

My Husband #MyRoleModel

Selfie with #MyRoleModel A role model is more than an inspiration Its takes a lot to be an idol to me Being a borderline feminist There was only one deserving man I could see He is the strongest person that I know Living life by his own opinions and rules He is the best judge of people around Knows the difference between innocence and fools Never to lie or sugar coat words He is as honest as anyone can be Intelligent in every sense of the world To every verbal lock he has the key He went on to follow his dreams Without bothering about what others spoke He came out with bright flying colors Not letting his passions go up in smoke He took risks, while people laughed behind him Slogged day and night to get to where he is Fingers were pointed one too many Believing in himself, he gave them all a miss Another one! What he did, he did it for himself Not to prove a point to any body Having reached the peak of his field He sti...

Bad Boys

So I'm back from another short trip to the hospital. Yeah yeah this low BP, low platelet count and the high work stress seems to be taking a toll on me. Seriously, life isn't what it used too be anymore. Nor is nostalgia, nor is love. Here I go again. Lying down in the white room of the hospital with nothing to do was punishment personified. If you knew me personally you would know how difficult it is for me to keep my mouth shut or my hands free even for a minute. With red and white tubes coming into my poor lil hands and mom yanking me to keep my mouth shut and sleep, I lay there like an oxymoron exercising the one organ I could, while being immobile. The brain, what else? I lay there thinking about my friend. I miss him badly, but my lioness ego would not let me show that. He'll be back soon I know but until he's back he's gonna occupy quite some space in my already cluttered brain. My friend was right, I do get addicted to people very soon. But somehow that'...

Man vs Food

An additional talent has always been a turn on when it comes to men, for me. Looks are a priority yes, but it features close to the last on my priority list. Personality, top one! I don't care much about the face as long as he has the right things at the right place and nothing extra. A moustache is unpardonable, but a day old beard gains an extra point. Height and apt weight is the biggest ever turn on. I don't like beefed up guys, nor the flimsy ones. Sleek is the word I presume. Take Ranbir Kapoor for example. Reading comes a close second. Men who read have some extra zing to them. I'm not talking geeks here, who sit with a book and glasses under every pretext. If you have the personality and you can read, then voila! A friend of mine sent me this link and it was the perfect time killer while my code took its course of two hours to run. Singing, playing an instrument or a sport is of course a turn on, but of late men who can cook has taken over the third spot. I'd ...

Woody Arjun

"He is so wondrously wooden that he could give the finest mahogany a solid complex" ~ NDTV Film Critic, On Arjun Rampal's character in We are Family . Its a pity, I was so damn looking forward to watch him on big screen after Raajneeti. Not too sure if I want to watch it now, but if I do I'll surely come out with my opinion on him. P.S: I don't think it matters if he can act or not, as long as he manages to look this good!

Bond

How do we bond with people? How do you check if the frequencies match? What is compatibility? In simple words, what can you talk about to connect with someone. I can connect with someone with any one of the following. 1. Misery. You're going through the same hell as I am, and can understand how I feel, you have all chances of being my next BFF. 2. Books. Nothing like discussing the writing of your favourite authors. 3. Food. This is the one bond I crave for the most. I'm a foodie and I love to talk about food. I'm also known to dissect the food and butt in with my not so wanted opinion. 4. Fashion. Latest trends, colours, fittings, products etc etc. 5. Music. Discuss different genres and give an honest opinion as to what you think. If you can sing or play an instrument, thumbs up! 6. Movies. I like off beat movies, so someone with similar tastes comes out golden. 7. Poetry. Hardly found anyone who fancies poetry the way I do. Perfectly rhymed words, sends a chill down my sp...

Eclipse'd

For me, Insanity is probably the best state of mind to be in. I'm a hedonist alright, but this tiny portion of my brain where only insanity prevails is the one to give me the most pleasure. Its this place inside me where very few people are allowed and hardly a bunch of people get to see this side of me. Everyone knows by now that I'm not the typical Indian female. Having said that, there is nothing great about me either. Someone once told me that being different can also mean being weird. So be it! Although, there is something quirky, mysterious and equally annoying about me that tends to attract people. My friend once told me that he just loves me for the fact that he knows that there is always something going on in my mind. Apparently, it attracts him to me. Well what do I say, as long as it works for me! :-) My mind has been a roller coaster always but finally I'm getting the twists and turns right. I like this care free state I'm currently in. Frankly, of late noth...
