Image Source Yesterday I read a blog post that spoke about one's blogging journey. That is when I remembered that my blogging anniversary was actually the next day. It has been a few years since I blogged regularly, so these milestones were usually missed. Forgotten even. Now, I am giving my space the credit it deserves. As of today, it has been fourteen years since I wrote my first blog post . Can you believe it? I honestly can't. I was twenty-two when I started this space and now at thirty-six, my blog has been a part of my journey through thick and thin. Since the only way I know to talk or write is by being honest and straight-forward, this space has it all. It has seen every phase that I've been in. It has given me a space to say what I want, whenever I want. That is only one of the reasons why I love this space so much.

Image Source Today, I complete eight years of corporate life. Yes, eight long years with the same company. During the third year of my engineering, I was placed in the big blue and a day after my final fourth year exams, I joined the company. My joining location was Chennai and I hated the place from the time I set my foot into it. I was away from my family for the first time ever and for a true blood Bangalorean to survive in a place like Chennai is really difficult. I cribbed and complained and cribbed some more. Plus, since I was away, my long distance relationship went kaput and I was not in the right frame of mind to stay in an alien city. After four grueling months, I got a transfer and I was back in Bangalore. Since that day, there has been no looking back. People say that work is worship, I don't know that exactly. Image Source Six years ago I wrote my first post and here I am today writing my 1000th post. Yes, the thousandth post on LOL! Phew! I cannot believe that I have written so many posts here. This was my first post and I still remember how skeptical I was about publishing it. Blogging was relatively a new concept in 2009 and very few had treaded there. When a friend saw a few poems that I had written, she asked me to start a blog. Heartbroken and sad, I needed a distraction. That was when I started this space. To pour out my feelings and everything that was happening in my life. Poems, fiction, rant, frustrations - this place has seen everything. Today as I write this, I feel a sense of satisfaction and acceptance. For making it this far and for lasting all this while. My blog has been my best friend all these years.
