Tap The Impulse #ItsPersonal

Image Source Scenario 1 : I'm stuck in a government office, waiting to get my passport renewed. And the government being the government, I'm given a token with the number 186 on it and am directed to a long line that is swirling around the office like a snake. Since this is my third attempt on getting my passport renewed, I decide to make it my last and join the line. A few others join immediately behind me giving me momentary solace that I'm not the last one in the line. It is going to take a long time, so what do I do? I obviously cannot open my laptop and start surfing something while I am standing in a line with my elbows sandwiched between two others. And wearing ear/headphones and listening to music and looking like a jackass is not my cup of tea either. So what other option do I have? Reading may be. But I cannot concentrate with so much noise around. So I stick to the safest bet ever. To look through my phone. Since I have unlimited 3G, there is no compromis...

Your Choice - Your Story: Now Customise

While the online market is swiftly growing and offers us a world of mass produced goods, there is hardly any scope to personalise these products, which could really make them unique and offbeat. Imagine a website that allows you to customise products and add a special touch, the way you want. This is the next wave of e-commerce. Say Hello to “icustommadeit”! In August 2013 an online marketplace called ' icustommadeit.com ' was launched, which connects buyers who wish for one-of-a-kind creations with passionate and professional creators of those goods, from around the country. icustommadeit was established on the belief that customization is the core of any merchandise today. The buyers connect with specialized creators by submitting a description or photo of what they want to customize for themselves. Creators, who are interested get in touch with ideas and send out their proposals to start the project. icustommadeit is a wonderful platform were buyers get to virtua...

Fashion First

Image Source It is pouring cats and dogs outside and Neha wants to go shopping for some summer clothes that she needs to carry on her vacation to Miami. Her flight is in five days and she has not even begun packing yet. This would have been a panic inducing situation around five years ago. But now Neha knows that she does not have to worry at all. She has a personal assistant who does the shopping for her. She shows Neha the various styles of summer clothing, helps her make her choice and brings it to her. And Neha did not have to leave the comforts of her home even for a while. Once the clothes came in, Neha tried it out. She kept the clothes that looked and fit right. And the ones she was not comfortable with, she returned. The assistant took back the clothes without any hassle and refunded her amount too. If you are thinking this is an inhumane act where one person enslaves the other to get their work done, then you are absolutely wrong. The personal assistant here is presen...

Loafing In Style

Image Source During summers my husband gets really agitated. The heat coupled with the sweat makes it very difficult to wear shoes and wash up regularly. He is the causal jeans and coverse kinda guy, but in summers it gets really hard to wear sneakers and walk around. So this time, I bought him a pair of loafers to try it out. Since he was wearing them for the first time, I kept it subtle and bought him a tan colored pair. To coax him more into wearing it I also got him a matching tan belt to go with it. From the minute he wore it, there was no looking back. It is easy to slip on and the comfort level is extremely high. The fit was perfect and the basic color went with almost piece of clothing. The next day we placed an order for a blue pair. When it comes to loafers, it is important to buy the right fit as more often than not loafers are worn without socks. We do not want the edges to be protruding out. Also buy them in airy material with enough ventilation. Some loafers do no...

The Shopping Season

Image Source December is here and along with the Christmas season, it is also the shopping season with almost every store putting up a sale board. Christmas is a beautiful season, there is always happiness in the air and pixie dust falls on everyone. Santa is watching and soon it will be time to buy and stock gifts for all your loved ones. But do we have the time to do all that shopping? My clients have a leave from 19th Dec until the New Year to celebrate Christmas but we have just a day off and nothing more. So how to complete shopping for a big fat family in just a day? And do we have the patience to parade from store to store, surviving the crowd and the dizziness? Well, I don't. Last week I went shopping with my best friend. We went to the famous Commercial Street of Bangalore that houses almost every brand that you can think off. This place also has innumerable street shops that sell everything from bright accessories to Jodhpuri jootis . As much as I enjoy the vibran...

Sir. I am big fan Sir. Big fan ." A pleasant voice comes in. " Hahaha kanna, all people are my fans. You are nothing special ." He says lighting a cigar with his other hand. " I am special. I am special ." A shrill cry. " Wokay wokay. Who are you by the way ?" Rajinikanth grins. " Ah ha ha ha ha, oo ooo ohh la la ." A giggle follows this tone. " Why are you laughing? Yena rascala, how dare you laugh at me ." Rajinikanth puffs away harder. " That's my song Sir. I am Lady Gaga. The one and only ." " Oh ho ho, the lady with the meat dress ah? Desperate Housewife

" What the hell is wrong with you? Do you have nothing else to do? How will I go out now ?" My husband yells as I quietly chopped carrots and potatoes. I planned on making vegetable pulao for dinner, as he had just returned from Delhi this evening. He was a struggling businessman trying to make a name for himself some where. He travelled almost every day trying to find investors for his online pharmacy idea. Nothing had materialized so far though. I tried to be a supportive wife but at times it got on to my nerves. I mean, he had a high paying job at a big MNC and he quit it to start off his dream project. We are surviving on his savings and it has been more than a year since we had money pouring in. I wanted to take up a course and try to contribute to the income, but he was strictly against it. I had to give in. " Meena, are you listening to me ?" He yells again. " Relax Ramesh. I just went out for a drive. I did not intend to exhaust the fuel ....

Online Therapy With Cashkaro.com

I have always found shopping to be therapeutic. We all do right? But I have a problem. I buy one thing and that is enough therapy for me. I absolutely loathe going to a million shops and looking at million things. Every time I go shopping, I have two things in mind. The budget and the store. I straight go to that particular store, buy it and come back. I do not like walking around streets and peeping into shops looking if there is something that I could buy. The term window shopping does not exist in my dictionary. Also, I hate shopping in malls. I would any day prefer to walk into a stand alone shop and pick up my stuff. A crowd makes me nauseous. And scents trigger migraine for me. So I stay away from crowded places as much as possible. Today, I prefer to shop from the vicinity of my office desk or from home. Online. It is a boon, that I had not realized until now. *hangs head in shame* I started shopping online only after I got married and mostly due to lack of time. I'...
