What Not To Wear

Image Source When it comes to clothes, I'm very particular about everything. Right from the color, to the fabric, to the cut to the pattern - I want everything to be perfect. I have been very particular about fashion since I was very young. When I was not earning, I used to dress in anything that was wearable. I have had enough of my share of faux pas. But once I turned eighteen and started taking up promotional jobs, I used to save up money to buy good clothes for myself. No, I was not an ardent fashion follower, I just wanted to wear something that suited me and what I was comfortable in. This continues till date. When I was a size zero around 5-6 years ago, almost anything I wore used to suit me. But once I started gaining weight, I became more conscious of the clothes I wear. That was when I started dressing according to body type, keeping in mind the current trends. Today I know what cuts suit me best and what colors and patterns I can carry off very well. I'm pretty...

12 Things In A Woman's Closet That Will Never Go Out Of Style

Image Source Every woman has an overflowing closet and yet nothing to wear. As I read this article I realized that when you can have a list of summer must haves, why not a list of items that is a must have forever. Trends change, styles come and go, but there are a few wardrobe staples that never ever go out of style. Investing in these products would never be a bad idea. 1. A well fit denim. Image Source Nothing spells comfort better than a good old pair of denims. You can choose your own style; high waist, bell bottoms, distressed or skinny. Suitable for both formal and casual wear, this is one item that would never go out of style for centuries. I for one, have never let go off my skinny jeans since they came into fashion years ago. 2. A classic white shirt. Image Source This one is class personified. Nothing oozes more sensuality then a well fitted crisp white shirt. Pair it with denims or a skirt, and people will know you as that sophisticated lad...

The Hotter Clooney

Image Source Whenever I prepared a list of the most sexiest men in showbiz, George Clooney always topped the list. There is something extremely sexy about that man. It maybe that charming face, delicate smile or that salt and pepper locks. And yes, that voice! I read that he has sworn off marriage a long time ago. But when the news of his marriage to a certain barrister came around, I knew that she would be one hell of a bombshell. After Elisabetta Canalis and Stacy Keibler , I was sure that he would not settle for anyone less. And when I saw his to-be wife for the first time, my jaw dropped. Amal Alamuddin could be the only woman on the planet who could get George Clooney to go down on his knees. Apparently the man spent 28 minutes on his knees, before Amal accepted his proposal. And I don't see why not. Just look at her! Apart from being a human rights lawyer and equally as famous as her husband, her sense of style and sophistication stands out. I have been following her...

Skirt It Like Kangana

When it comes to fashion if there is a person I idolize, then it has to be Kangana Ranaut. Her sense of style has evolved from small town girl to high end brands. She carries every look with elan and pride. The confidence with which she wears her clothes and styles them is something that we do not find everywhere. She is laid back, classy and sophisticated at the same time. Everything that she wears looks so good on her. Be it a simple jean or a high end couture gown. She rocks both the looks. Her choice of clothing is something that has awed me from years. She knows her clothes and her body. The clothes seem tailor made for her and she carries it off like she owns it. Having seen her in almost every possible style, it is very difficult for me to narrow down a few favorite looks of her. Now that summer is here, I have put away my denims and trousers. It is time to show some skin and look cool. Skirts and shorts are perfect for that. Skirts and shorts can be worn in so many styles ...

Say Yes To Leggings This Summer

Image Source Denims are the go to comfort clothing for all of us. The only problem with jeans is that, the fabric is thick and tight. This causes a lot of discomfort during summers. Now since summer is here, it is time to pack the denims and embrace something else that is more comfortable, light and versatile. Not everyone of us is comfortable wearing skirts and shorts during summer. Most of us have body issues and some just do not carry it off. Linen pajamas, dhoti pants, palazzos are the new trends, but the most comfortable trend during summers has always been leggings. They are thin, light and so versatile. They can be worn is so many ways and in so many styles. They help you protect your legs from the nasty sun burn and provide warmth once the sun has gone down. Styling a pair of leggings is the most easiest thing to do. I shall show you a few styles here. Plain black leggings: Black can be boring during summers, but when styled right the look can stand out. Pair the leg...

Loafing In Style

Image Source During summers my husband gets really agitated. The heat coupled with the sweat makes it very difficult to wear shoes and wash up regularly. He is the causal jeans and coverse kinda guy, but in summers it gets really hard to wear sneakers and walk around. So this time, I bought him a pair of loafers to try it out. Since he was wearing them for the first time, I kept it subtle and bought him a tan colored pair. To coax him more into wearing it I also got him a matching tan belt to go with it. From the minute he wore it, there was no looking back. It is easy to slip on and the comfort level is extremely high. The fit was perfect and the basic color went with almost piece of clothing. The next day we placed an order for a blue pair. When it comes to loafers, it is important to buy the right fit as more often than not loafers are worn without socks. We do not want the edges to be protruding out. Also buy them in airy material with enough ventilation. Some loafers do no...

More Than An Accessory

Image Source They say that you can tell a lot about a woman by the things she carries in her handbag. I completely agree. Women are known to carry their world with them making a handbag the must have and the perfect accessory. No look is complete without a handbag. Be it on a date, lunch or a party night. A bag is always needed no matter what the situation or the occasion. A woman's bag is a symbol of her personality. A bag not only serves as a purpose, it is an extension of the woman herself. The history of the handbag dates back to the nineteenth century. A bag was originally designed to hold essentials and over the years has evolved into a symbol of personal style. Although functionality is more important, a little style hurts no one. Bags to woman are like soul mates. They carry their life in them and it helps hide their secrets. Be it a sling, a tote or a clutch; a woman has all of it in her closet and yet craves for more. Purses are status symbols to some and everyday...

Two To Tango #OOTD

Image Source On 22nd March, Cal and I celebrated our second year wedding anniversary. I still remember scheduling the post for our first anniversary last year and now our second anniversary passed by too. It is true when they say that times flies when you are doing something that you love and with the person you love. Cal and I have been together for over four years now and have been married for two. Nothing has changed since the first day and that is what I think is the secret of our marriage. There still is the same amount of passion, love, respect and everything else that we first came with. After marriage he did not expect me to become something else and nor did I expect him to change. I still am his lover and his best friend. The wife only comes later. I got married when I was twenty six. Fairly young in my own standards as I wanted to get married only by thirty. But when I knew that the person is right, I did not find any reason to wait and I'm so glad I decided to ju...
