Winter Is Coming

The Lannisters are a complicated family. I cannot tell you more than that.”  Michael told his six year old daughter Sarah.

Tell me about the wolf dogs then.” Sarah said.

Direwolfs, my darling. Well, most of them were killed. Just two of them remain alive.

Why were they killed?

There is a war going on. People kill each other and animals too.

No! I do not want to hear more.

Don’t you want to know about the snowfall and the horses?

Are you reading “Game Of Thrones” to her again?” Mia yelled at her husband as she came back home.

This drabble (100 word fiction) is written for Friday Fictioneers, 16th December 2016.

  1. Methinks that the dad should have read about Arya and her stealth, her practice sessions with Needle, and her sheer daring and courage! A true Gryffindor, I must say.

Wait, am I mixing up fandoms? *bangs head against wall*

An interesting story, I must say. Reading Game of Thrones to a kid at an early age will make their grammar and language skills super strong :D

  2. Heh, not exactly a children's book. Great story, gave me a chuckle.

  3. Aha! Bang on. Totally fida over the story...a rush of fun:)

  4. Haha! So you too a GoT fan? I haven't seen the show, so I really don't understand why all the fuss about it! ;P
Loved the conversation between the two, though! <3

  5. Haha, thats an interesting dialogue... games of thrones oh yeah:-)

  6. Your dialogue is believable but I'm afraid I don't understand the story.

    1. You need to know Game Of Thrones to understand it. Thanks for visiting though Liz :)

  7. Time for me to read GoT I guess, What HP was to you GoT is to me :) Though I do know enough about it to understand your story. Now this story gave me a wonderful idea of which story to read to S next :)

    1. I haven't read the books. I'm a great fan of the show though. The book is said to be tedious and exhausting.

  8. Oh no, reading GoT to a small child! I'm with Mia on that one. :) I suspect that "Winter is coming" for him anyway. ;-)
