Last year came with many lessons

What's important is I came out alive

This year I will follow the same path

With hope, I choose to survive

I know it is not going to be easy

Into battles, head first I'll dive

I'll learn new things on the way

Finding strength, I choose to survive

If I gave it one try earlier

This time I shall make it five

Step by step, I'll build on myself

With persistence, I choose to survive

I'll stay away from negative people

I recognize them now, I'm no longer naive

Without a thought I'll cut them out

With positivity, I choose to survive

I'll adapt myself to every situation

No matter what, I'll learn to thrive

Having a firm control on my mind

Focused, I choose to survive

Hobbies, passions, love and joy

I'll embrace them with an invigorated drive

I'll proudly swim against the tide

One step at a time, I choose to survive

I'll not stop until I reach my goal

Harder and harder I will strive

Determined, sharp and agile

Fighting everything, I choose to survive

I'll learn to silence my mind

It will no longer be that chaotic hive

I'll slay my demons single-handedly

Against mayhem, I choose to survive

I've chosen an unusual path

I don't know the way, but I know I'll arrive

I'm gonna put in all that I have
