Arabian Desert, Dubai - March 2019 |
You can't leave footprints in the sands of time while sitting down.

Linking up with
Natasha and
Esha for Wordless Wednesday this week. My second time.
This is a beautifully taken picture. Ironically, the word Dubai never conjures up this image for me... I grew up there in the 80s and don't think I ever visited the Arabian desert in all that time :)

Thank you :)
DeleteThere is so much more to Dubai than the buildings and the bling. You should visit it once, it takes your breath away!
Profound and so true!!
ReplyDeleteIndeed.
DeleteWhat a gorgeous picture! At first I thought this was taken by a drone.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Raj!
DeleteLovely photo! I love the sand {because of its significance to the beach} but also because of the marks we leave. The quote is a very poignant one too
ReplyDeleteThis one was a desert though :)
DeleteThe marks me leave is what matters.
Such a beautiful shot, Soumya and the thought complementing it is so deep! Your words remind me of armchair travelling, and how it can never compensate for the real thing!
ReplyDeleteI remember visiting Dubai in 2018 and this picture brought back memories of our Desert Safari!
Thank you, Esha :)
DeleteI love the unique patterns of the sand.
ReplyDeleteSuch a unique quote, Soumya.
And are those camel hoof marks?
I've never been to Dubai. It only conjures images of megalomania. But I bet there is more to it than meets the eye. Friends who live there love it.
I visited a desert in Rajasthan as a kid, but haven't thought of going back to one. Maybe the heat deters me. I should plan to go to Rann of Kutch for the full moon in February. Heard it is spectacular.
Have a terrific rest of the week Soumya! How are things in your neck of woods? We haven't connected in eons.
Sending you love and positive vibes!
And yes, thank you for another wonderful link up post for #WordlessWednesday <3
Aren't you the sweetest, Natasha? <3
DeleteThose are the marks made by my shoes. Since the sand is very fine, it goes way too deep and looks like this!
I unfortunately haven't visited the deserts of Rajasthan yet even though I've been to Jaipur and Jodhpur. I want to do the Rann of Kutch during February too.
Thank you dear Natz, let's talk soon.
Lots of love!
Lovely! I would like to see the desert in Dubai.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to see you taking up Wordless Wednesday. Can I hope that you will join for Thursday Tree Love too? #nopressure :)
Do visit when you get a chance!
DeleteTwo Wordless Wednesday and one Thursday Tree Love is now planned for every month henceforth. #ImIn :)
