Action Replay - October

Image Source: Google I haven't updated my blog in more than a week and I'm feeling miserable about it. I try to write at least five posts a week, but October kept me so busy that I couldn't take out time for anything. Since Internet is now permanently blocked on my client network, I cannot even read other blogs! Yeah, tragic. Somehow I managed to write fifteen posts in October and two of them were mandatory book reviews. I feel sad that I haven't been able to take out time to update my blog, but I wanted to give most of my time to my regular job as it was in a critical state and it was my responsibility to get the work completed. Yes, I managed to get it done in time but the next phase of it started immediately keeping me more busy. By the time I get home from work I am really exhausted and do not have the strength for anything else. Mostly these days once back home, I log in to work again to check on a few things. So well, now you know why I was away from this ...

A To Z Of Me

There was a time when awards were so frequent on the blogosphere, that there was hardly any joy in receiving it. Every Tom, Dick and Harry were keen on awarding every John Doe in the scene. I'm glad those days are over. After a few years I see the award fad returning to blogs and this time I see blogs worthy of the award receiving it, which makes the whole concept seem right and good. Awards are a definite boost to a blogger, who feels that the writing has been appreciated and in turn can appreciate others. Such kind gestures are what makes this blogosphere a wonderful place to be in. And I am proud to be a part of it for more than five years now. The ' Quintet of Radiance Award ' has been doing the rounds for about some time now. This is a wonderful award that combines five awards within one, hence making it more special. And I'm honored that I have been given this award by three awesome bloggers. Crimson Curls , Anmol and Aathira , thank you guys so much fo...

Action Replay - June

Image Source: Google No, I have not forgotten about the action replay post for June, just that work has kept me really busy. But now I am back with all glory! June has been a pleasant and a peaceful month with ample rest during the first half and ample work during the other half. I like being busy, so I do not crave for free time. People find this extremely weird, but that is how I am. Being free with a lot of time in my hands makes me feel useless and hurts my ego. Big time. Speaking of ego, have any one of you come across some people in real life who have truck loads of ego for absolutely no reason? Well, in June I met many such specimens. Yes, all of us have egos and it is good if it is in the right amount. Else, it definitely will take you downhill. Some people miss out on learning new things thinking that they know everything in the world. And they find it offensive when people try to correct them when they actually are wrong. Come on, hear the other person out at least! ...

Introducing: LOL's 'Roar & Soar' Award

Image Source: Google. Edited to a badge by LOL. When PeeVee started ' U Rok My Sox ' award on her blog a few years ago, I was more than impressed by the idea. I also wanted to start an award on my blog, to honor the writers who impress me. Somehow I never got around to doing it. Also, back then I used to only follow a limited number of bloggers who already had more than enough awards to their credit. Soon, the idea drowned in my mind and I did not think about it again. Until I came across Aathira's blog . One fine day, this lady leaves a comment on my blog as 'A' and I go back to see who this actually is. The minute I stepped in to her space, I was hooked. The first post of hers that I read was a fiction piece titled ' Desire '. I remember reading it again and again and again. As beautiful as it was, it reminded me of a few old posts of mine. Not in terms of content, but in terms of emotions and feelings. This post till date, remains one of the best...

Celebrations Galore

So, who all noticed the small bright badge just above the followers list? :D Yes, yes, my beloved LOL, made it to the ' Directory of top Indian blogs ' for the year 2012-13. This is such an awesome feeling that I have no words to express it. When Meoww posted on Raj cheta's wall that his 'Fuck Love' had made it to the directory of top Indian blogs, I just clicked on the link to check out the other wonderful blogs in the list. Not once did I expect my blog to be in it. I read the page for about half an hour and I scrolled down to the 'S' section. There I saw my name. I couldn't believe it at first. I clicked the link, it re-directed to my blog. And then I screamed! I ran downstairs to inform Cal and my in-laws. Then we all screamed together. In joy. Yeah, we are one crazy family. They understand the pain and effort I put into writing and respect me for it. They all read my posts and thoroughly enjoy it. That was a victory in itself. Next cam...

Its Hay during May - Again!

Just like last year , May has been extremely awesome this year too. Cal and I are just back from a much needed vacation and I'm feeling all rejuvenated and stress free. Ah, I love my life. So, reasons why the month was so awesome. First, I got published! Again. Last month my article ' Meenakshi ' got featured in the online magazine Tamarind Rice . This month my poem ' The Pebble ' made it to the magazine, along with my secret(not anymore) recipe for the wonderful and delicious Red Velvet cup cakes . Yay! I'm thrilled to the bone.  Check out this magazine people. Its awesome and they choose the best articles too. Go ahead, and submit your articles. All details mentioned on their site . Next, just when I thought that blog awards were almost extinct, Keirthana and Srishti proved me wrong. After being awarded the ' Best New Blogger ' and ' The Versatile Blogger ' before, they bestowed upon me the ' Creative Blogger ' ...

Somersault in the Air

I've always written about random crap. Love included. Once its on my mind, the next thing I know, I'm typing it out here. I just do it to vent and make myself feel good. Yeah yeah selfishness alert, but people actually like me for that. Most of them think that I'm being way too open about my life and that people would tend to judge me. Well, judge me all you want. A few of them who understand me and love me for what I am are enough to keep me going. Priyanka , Gowthami , Spaceman Spiff , Shobhit and Srinidhi have awarded me with this. Yay! Thank you so much, my lovely people. You really do know how to brighten me up. I love you all <3 So we proceed. Linkback? Done. 7 random things about me: 1. I wish I was a bit more tall. I know a 5.6" is good enough, but you know dil maange a little bit more. 2. I'm allergic to tomato ketchup or cooked tomatoes, capsicum, paneer, artificial food colors and sweets (yeah you got that right). These are the sure s...
