You, Me & Us

We’ve always been night and day I, the fire; you, the rain Yet still, our heart beats to the same rhythm  In the quiet, we break the chain

Caught In A Mad Romance

Image Source You are the drama to my queen Life is never dull with you around You are one of my greatest treasures In you, everything I found You add the music to my lyrics Every note different and yet so same When I hear the word love I replace it with your name

The Stars Shine Down

Image Source No one expected this to happen But we knew it was for the best All the uncertainties so far Were finally laid to rest I love the way this started Slowly at first and then all at once The darkest times then turned bright Leading to a thousand splendid suns

Seven Down, Forever To Go

Image Source Year one, fresh in love Hand in hand we rejoice Totally lost in the feeling Yet clear about each other's choice Year two, we were ready to be married Fighting against all odds, we went ahead I just wanted to be with you I knew it, because that's what my heart said Year three, as man and wife We started a new beginning Nothing changed between us I was your queen, you my king

Call It Magic

Image Source They say love is nothing short of magic After all it makes the world go round When it comes to a realist like me Balderdash, these all did sound You'll feel the butterflies they said I laughed knowing I'll feel nothing But when it did happen I felt this love was quite something The first time I fell in love was beautiful I did feel something within too But magic was far away from it Even though it seemed too good to be true

Decoding Sri Lanka

On Our Flight To Colombo Sri Lanka was our first choice of destination for our honeymoon three years ago. I had visited the island country earlier on work and had fallen in love with the peace in the country. I was keen to come back on a holiday soon. However, circumstances got difficult back then and we couldn't plan an international travel for our honeymoon. But we were able to fulfill our dream for our third anniversary in March this year. We began the planning from January. Our first step was to book the tickets so that we can get the main task off the list. No matter at what time we checked, all the International Airlines that flew from Bangalore to Colombo were really expensive. We then decided to change our starting point. The International Flights from Chennai to Colombo were much cheaper than the ones from Bangalore. We saved close to Rs. 15,000 just by booking our flights from Chennai instead of Bangalore. The return journey was directly from Colombo to Bangalor...

Action Replay: March & April 2016

Image Source I couldn't do an action replay post for March, thanks to the A to Z challenge in April. March has been a wonderful month for me in terms of everything. Work, personal life, travel etc. Cal and I finished three years of marriage this March and we went on a vacation to Sri Lanka for a whole week. We had planned to go to Sri Lanka for out honeymoon back then, but couldn't due to a lot of financial constraints. This time we planned well and took a week off from work just for some good relaxation time and a celebration. I've been to Sri Lanka before on work and I loved the country. The whole country was so clean and well planned. So unlike ours. I had decided back then itself that this would be a place I'd come back one day with Cal. Our flight to Colombo was from Chennai and we took a train from Bangalore to Chennai. Our first train journey together and we enjoyed it completely. Chennai is a place that holds really bad memories for me and I had decided ...

Y: You #AtoZChallenge

We've been through a long journey now And every moment has been best after best It is you who I need to survive When I have you, I don't need the rest Months and years have passed so quick And yet I fall in love with you everyday I might not keep telling you this Just read what my eyes have to say People expected the spark to die down Together we turned it into blazing fire No matter how much time passes in between It is you who I will always desire Life seems so simple with you Together we have got past it all I can walk with my eyes closed for you I know you'll be around to break my fall You are the most important part of me You are the color and I'm your hue Without you, A to Z could never happen All about me is also about you

The Two Men In My Life

Image Source This post was originally supposed to be out on Women's Day, but lack of time did not let that happen. Next, it was blog anniversary and I got busy with setting up the blog. So here it is today. Better late than never, right? I'm a fiercely independent woman, but I would not be what I am without the love and support of two men. They are the most important men in my life and I love them very much. First is my father. When you belong to middle class family, the birth of the second daughter is expected to create a stir of agony. But my dad was very happy when his second child turned out to be a girl. We were loved immensely and me being the younger one was pampered to the core. Not once did my parents cry about the fact that they did not have a son. We were given all the luxuries that they could afford back then. Right from the best of the education to all other amenities. My dad used to be ridiculed about being poor and having two daughters. But he never showe...

Laughing Down The Aisle #LoveAndLaughter

I firmly believe that laughter is something that keeps life going. And a sense of humor is the sexiest trait a partner can have. Humor is not only when we make fun of someone and laugh. You need to be able to laugh at yourself too. Being able to laugh at oneself is quite a feat. And this is exactly what paved way for my love story. The first meeting alone: We had known each other for the whole of our lives and by known I mean that we knew that each other existed. It was at a family occasion that we met and spoke briefly. Then he asked for my number and we began chatting. Our frequencies matched and it was really fun talking to him. We then decided to meet. Since both of us enjoy a drink, we decided to meet one weekend over some old monk and coke. We started talking and did not realize how time flew. A drink turned into five and we were still high on conversation. Finally, the pub authorities asked us to leave and we got up from our seats. We were on the fourth floor and the lif...

The Best Year Of My Life

Image Source Early 2015, Cal and I decided that it was about time we moved into a place of our own. For various reasons, some good and some bad, we decided to look out for a space of our own and move before our second anniversary in March. Since both of us work full time, there was hardly any time to go out and look for places to rent. The first day we contacted a broker and went and took a look at a couple of houses. They were really small and uncomfortable, while the rent was huge. We were disappointed and yet determined to move out. The next day Cal got a call (he had left his number on a popular real estate site) from a house owner asking us to go take a look at their house. With zero expectations, we walked into an apartment complex which was very close to the place we both worked. After five minutes, we had decided that this was the place that we would take up. Couple of days later, we spoke to the owner and had a deal drawn up. And on February 9th 2015 , Cal and I moved in...

Rejuvenated: Part 2

Read Part-1 here . Image Source The night after the barefoot trek was quite something. There was a sharp pulling pain in my feet and I couldn't bear it any more. My feet were frozen and I couldn't even sit. The super cold weather and the barely there room heater was not helping either. While I was looking around the room to find something to warm my feet, my eyes fell on my hair dryer. Half an hour and a few blasts of hot air later, I was feeling better. By then the hot water was ready and I soaked my feet in a bucket for a good hour. The pain soon turned into a burning sensation before finally turning into moderate relief. A good night's sleep helped heal better too. The next day we visited a Buddhist monastery in Manali, before heading towards Shimla. I find Buddhism fascinating. It is a simple and no nonsense way of spirituality. If I did believe in religion, this one is what I would follow. The place was so quiet and serene that I did not want to leave. We wa...

Rejuvenated: Part 1

Image Source Aaaaannnd I'm back! For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, I was away on a break for the last five days. And by a break, I mean a vacation. And by a vacation I mean an actual vacation and not like the break that went wrong last time. I've been overworked since the past few months. But I clearly suck at taking breaks . The last time we took a holiday was in May last year. We have been so happy at out own place that we did not feel the need for a vacation then. But wanderlust struck again and we decided it was time to do something about it. We went and came back. After spending five days in temperatures under sub zero, Bangalore welcomed us with its blistering heat. I can't believe what has happened to Bangalore these days. Winter lasted for exactly two days and then boom! The scorching sun is back with all its prickliness. I miss the good old Bangalore at times and yet there is no other place in the world where I would want to stay. Bangalo...

Action Replay - 2015

Image Source Warning: Long post ahead. December was a pretty peaceful month for me. Work was stressful as usual, but it kept me busy and I was happy. The big change that happened this month was Cal shifting his job. How does that impact me? Well, earlier he worked close by and he would pick me up on the way back from work and we would spend the entire evening together. But now since he has to travel quite a bit, I go home early after work. This leaves me with a good amount of me time. Thanks to which, I managed to read around four books this month. Yes, I finally completed ' The Palace Of Illusions ' and I loved it to the core. Having time for myself means I end up baking often or doing something creative. Cal asked me to start sketching again and I did. It gives me immense peace to doodle on plain sheets. The last I drew something was in school and except a doodle framework that I created two years ago, I was starting from scratch again. It felt nice and peaceful. So...

Shining Bright

Image Source There is something about this thing called love It hits you hard and sweeps you off your feet It opens up doors you did not know existed And makes a rhythm of your heart beat Falling in love is not important What matters is staying in love It doesn't matter how many years pass by What was there then, should be there now Some people say that it all dies down After a few years there will be no romance Many of them are firm believers of this And yet some one of them leave it to chance My love story started years ago And it has remained the same till date Everyday I fall in love a million times With my friend, my lover and my soul mate Every morning I wake up with a kiss When he leaves to work there is another Romance lasts throughout the day for us Every night we snuggle against each other It is not something we consciously plan It all comes naturally to us Love remains the base of our relationship Nothing co...
